Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Published: 16th December, 2015

Merry ChristmasThis will be our last blog post for 2015 so we’d like to wish all of our customers a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. All of the staff here at Henry Street Garden Centre would like to Thank You for your custom and support throughout 2015, and look forward to seeing you all in 2016.

As we plan for the New Year, please share your blog topic suggestions with us by posting a comment and tell us what type of information you’d like us to talk about.

With Christmas just a week away we are already excited about the new gardening season. In just a few days, we’ll reach mid-winter meaning that with each passing day there is a little more daylight.  Even in the dead of winter, signs of new life are beginning to stir all around us as bulbs begin to emerge reminding us that Spring is just around the corner.

Come January our garden centre will be filling up with new stock – a huge variety of new roses, hardy vegetables like rhubarb and horseradish, the new seasons seeds and fruit trees and shrubs.

There is plenty that can actually be planted in the garden in January as long as it is above freezing and the ground isn’t saturated. Whatever the weather, you can be getting on with general garden care and preparations for when the weather warms up. Seeds should be ordered and plans started for your spring planting.

For those of you who don’t usually start thinking about the garden until March time we think you’d be surprised at just how much you’ll find at Henry Street in January.

But before that we all have a wonderful time with family and friends to look forward to. No 8am starts, no meetings, just eating good food, hanging out with family, catching up on sleep and relaxing before the next year begins.

Happy Christmas Everyone!  We wish you a prosperous and wonderful 2016!
