Merry Christmas from us all at Henry Street Garden Centre!

Published: 19th December, 2018

Merry Xmas from Henry StreetWishing all our customers old and new a very merry Christmas and best wishes for the year ahead!

We find ourselves less than a week away from Christmas day and we’re left wondering, where on earth did that year go?!

But what a fantastic year 2018 has turned out to be! It got off to a disastrous start for the world of gardening with one of the longest and coldest winters on record, thanks to the ‘Beast of the East’ bringing us snow, ice and sub-zero temperatures well into March. What is usually the start of the gardening calendar, just didn’t happen.

But then almost overnight the weather turned and we welcomed one of the hottest summers on record. The smell of BBQ’s hung in the air and the whole country truly enjoyed a summer and autumn of outdoor living.

In June we proudly opened our new restaurant which contributed to us being awarded the ‘Most Improved Centre in the South region’ by the Garden Centre Association.  With our new food area we also started to offer our customers a wider range of fresh local produce.

The summer just flashed past and whoosh, now it’s Winter! We’ve had an exceptionally busy few weeks with our Christmas open evenings, Christmas lunches and Santa’s Grotto and we now begin to look forward to the next gardening season. Come January our garden centre will be filling up with new stock. And we already have a couple of planned events for you to add to your diary;

  • Orchid Care – our orchid specialist will be here on Sun 3rd March.
  • Rose Pruning – our rose pruning demonstrations will be on 9th / 10th / 13th March.
    See in store for more details.

Until the New year all of us here at Henry Street would like to wish all our current and future customers the very best of Christmases, and the very best for 2019.

    I love Henry Street g/c it has a different feel to it then any other garden centre , perhaps it is because it’s family run but I am never worried about asking for help or advice it’s duly sorted with no frame, so well done Henry Street long may you grow and grow! X
